Ever since I was a student, I have loved research and wanted to create something using machine learning and AI.

However, there are limits in terms of manufacturing in mere research positions. So, I looked for a job where I could hone my research skills, engineering skills, and business skills and put my research into practice.

As for the applicants, I was mainly considering companies that are using AI technology in their business and companies that want to incorporate AI technology in the future.

I learned about GA technologies Co., Ltd. through an introduction from a person in charge of a job hunting support service. As an industry, I was not particular about real estate in particular.

Actually, there was a time when I was aiming to become a musical instrument store. I used to play the electric guitar in high school, and I was very interested in musical instruments. However, when I first heard about the laboratory at university, I felt the great potential of technology. My interest in AI and other cutting-edge technologies grew rapidly, and I entered graduate school. It can be said that life has changed because of the existence of technology. There are people in the world who are unable to enjoy the power of technology for various reasons. I have always had the desire to change that situation.

At that time, I met GA technologies Co., Ltd., and while listening to various stories, I connected the word "DX" to what I wanted to achieve. The real estate industry to which GA technologies Co., Ltd. belongs is also an industry that still has analog parts. I became interested in applying digital technology to such industries.

Actually, there was another company I was hesitating about, but the experience of being interviewed by Kenichiro Kobayashi, who was Advisors at GA technologies Co., Ltd. at the time, was the decisive factor in joining.

Mr. Kobayashi and I both specialize in natural language processing. At that time, I myself was at a loss in my research, and at the interview, Mr. Kobayashi gave me a harsh opinion. I became desperate because I was told so harshly that I would never be hired again. When I finally asked, "Then what should I do?" Mr. Kobayashi gave me very accurate advice. When I thought about it again based on that, I came up with an idea that would serve as the core of my master's thesis.

Then, unexpectedly, I got the news that I passed the interview. I decided to join the company, thinking that I should follow Mr. Kobayashi.

Since joining the company, I have participated in building information database projects. Since I joined the company, I wanted to work on a job that would create a large foundation that I could not build on my own.

It's a worthwhile job, but it was especially difficult to identify the name of the building. It was difficult to handle cases where buildings with the same name had different addresses. The administrative district was changed, and the property was completely different in the first place, but the team members dealt with such cases one by one. Some people may think that being an AI engineer is a glamorous job, but in reality it's a mundane job.

The first thing I do to maintain motivation is to share the feeling of "it's tough" with team members. Then you can get suggestions that will make your work easier, such as assigning you another programming task that will change your mind.

It's an environment where you can freely express your opinions and feelings to your superiors and seniors, so it's easy to overcome hardships and create value as a result.

I am currently developing a prototype for a new business. The process of creating prototypes and improving them with a sense of speed is a lot of fun.

I call it "conversation with things", but instead of just drawing an image, we create things that actually move, and we discuss and improve them while touching them. I believe that I can make the most of my research skills, engineering skills, and business skills.

Megumi Tabuchi, an engineer who joined the company as a new graduate in 2019, is one of the people I want to aim for. I am impressed not only with the overwhelming quality and quantity of his efforts, but also with his constant focus on the essence of engineering and his unwavering attitude.

Also, what I learned from CTO Mr. Endo when I was offered a job offer is still useful today. I respect the fact that they are faithful to the basics, do not show their ego that engineers tend to show, and have a consistent stance of "developing together."

And Mr. Inamoto, the head of the AI Strategy Center to which I belong, is also a goal. I think it's amazing how they boldly take on any unreasonable task and turn their ideas into reality. I was chatting with him saying, “I wish I had something like this,” and he made it a week later. I really admire you.

I believe that GA is an organization where people who want to make use of their research and implement it in society can play an active role. On the other hand, it may not be suitable for people who want to do only their own research. If you have a desire to write a program for someone, or a program that is useful to someone, I would like you to come to GA technologies Co., Ltd. with that feeling. Power will come later.
